A HAMPSHIRE haulage firm has high hopes for the future after adopting a new management system which will give employees more free time.

The company was originally founded in Fareham by Tony and Debbie Singleton in 2000 and has since expanded into the European market.

It now operates a small fleet of stateof-the-art Volvo trucks – all named after cartoon characters – and runs a task force of rapid response vehicles.

Transport manager Debbie Singleton says the firm hopes to re-establish a new work-life balance by automating processes and allow workers more time away from the office.

She said: “As we are a small company, at the moment I’m doing all the paperwork on a Saturday, so basically once all the new systems are in place I’m going to get my weekends back.

“The system for us, with the two logins, one for the Fareham office and one for the Cheshire office, will allow us to really see our systems in play and in a live-time system, rather than emailing each other to find out which lorry is going where.

“I’m very technology-focused and I like the new things becoming available to the industry.

By connecting the two offices and streamlining our systems, we will be able to respond to any rising issues of late-minute job amendments in realtime, allowing us to work more efficiently together and increase overall productivity.”

The new Mandata TMS System will allow users to log into the system remotely, which can help employees to be kept informed of operational changes as they occur.

It aims to reduce job planning time and make it easier to see what work is being carried out at any particular time.

Debbie said: “We’re a small company and our time is precious. We hope [to] release one person’s time so we can focus on putting together some marketing campaigns.”
