A FOOD service equipment specialist headquartered near Southampton has been putting the finishing touches to £1m worth of hotel sector contracts. They are the latest business wins for HCE, which employs 26 staff and supplies and installs professional kitchens across the UK.

The company has just signed off on Radisson Hotel at Meridian Gate, Cardiff, where works were completed within seven weeks from the order being placed in order to accommodate pop band Take That.

HCE, which has its offices and warehouse at Chandler’s Ford, also worked on the hotel chain’s Broad Quay at Bristol.

Remarkable time The other half of the £1m came from 119-bedroom four-star Coombe Abbey Hotel in Coventry and the luxury, 144-bedroom Luton Hoo Hotel in Bedfordshire, part of a £20m investment by Elite Hotels.

HCE, based at Chandler’s Ford, continues to work on a £1.5m kitchens-and-bars contract with the Savoy in London, which is undergoing a £100m restoration.

Steve Holley HCE’s sales director, said: “It’s been a remarkable few months for us and we’ve delivered on time, on budget and to a high specification.

“It was tight time-wise regarding the Radisson at Meridian Gate, with seven weeks from start to finish, but we didn’t want Take That going hungry before they went on stage at the Millennium Stadium.”
