IT IS the last call for one of Hampshire’s most prestigious business awards.

There are just days to nominate your employer or firm for eight hotly contested gongs at this year’s South Coast Business Awards 2013. The deadline for entries has been extended to 10am on Monday, April 22.

Organised by the Daily Echo, in association with leading law firm Trethowans, the awards aim to raise standards, stimulate competition and recognise business excellence.

They are being run in partnership with Business Solent and Destination Southampton.

Daily Echo business manager Jason Tuck said: “There is still time to enter the fray and shout about the success stories of the past year.

“Like never before it’s crucially important in the business world to celebrate success and strengths.

“This not only promotes your business but also leads by example and shows that the region’s economy has plenty to offer.”

There are awards for outstanding customer service, use of technology, commitment to education and training, and those excelling in growth and innovation.

There is also the coveted Young Entrepreneur of the Year, the Best Small Business and the Business Solent Champion of the Year.

The winners will be announced at a black-tie awards ceremony on Friday, July 12 at the Grand Harbour Hotel in Southampton featuring former Conservative MP Michael Portillo turned TV pundit and broadcaster.

Banking giant Santander is the official judging partner and sponsors include Taylor Made Computer Solutions, RSM Tenon, British American Tobacco, Smith & Williamson and Southampton City Council.

Last year’s stars were hair products wholesaler Salon Supplies, who scooped the Trethowans Business of the Year Award and the Smith & Williamson Growth Business of the Year Award.
