CCTV clues sought to betting shop robbery

A teenager being questioned about a robbery at a Southampton betting shop has been bailed by police.

The 18-year-old was released on bail pending further inquiries after he was arrested in connection with the raid at a branch of Betfred where staff were threatened with a handgun.

Detectives are now scouring CCTV footage from the area in a bid to find those responsible.

As previously reported by the Daily Echo three masked men targeted the bookies at High Road in Swaythling around 6.30pm on Monday.

One of the gang threatened staff with a handgun and demanded cash from the till. The men escaped with more than £1,000.
