A NAKED man was plucked from the Solent in the early hours of this morning after going out on a stag do.
The man was plucked to safety by a fishing boat at around 2am after cries for help were heard from a member of the public at Ryde on the Isle of Wight.
A coastguard spokesman said: "He was very cold and said he had been on a stag do on the island. The fishermen dropped him off on Ryde beach and he was last seen running naked towards Ryde."
"Obviously we were a bit worried about him catching hypothermia but we haven't been able to find him. There were no clothes left on the beach and we have no idea what he was doing in the water. So there is someone running around Ryde naked as far as we know."
The Ryde Rescue Independent Lifeboat, Bembridge Coastguards and a helicopter with thermal imaging equipment were dispatched to find him.
