Lovell has only five homes left for sale at its Montague Place development in Townhill Park, Southampton, after homebuyers rushed to reserve the new properties.

In little over a month, more than half of the 12 apartments and three-bedroom homes at the Megesson Avenue development have sold off plan. All homes sold so far have been to purchasers using the Government’s Help to Buy scheme.

The company is now releasing the final four homes for sale. Properties currently available include its Fowey two-bedroom apartment, at £135,000 and Tweed one-bed apartment, at £104,000. Both apartments offer high-specification, superbly designed accommodation as well as access to communal garden. And Lovell field sales manager Sandra Cuthbert is advising buyers to act quickly before the remaining properties are snapped up.

She says: “Buyers have been queuing to secure these high-quality new-build homes which become an even more attractive proposition with Help to Buy. The advantage of the scheme is that purchasers can secure a brand-new home with a five per cent deposit. This frees them from the cycle of saving for a big deposit in a rising market where it feels as though you may never reach your target because prices are going up all the time. Some of our purchasers originally asking about two-bedroom homes have even been able to afford the three-bedroom family home of their dreams through Help to Buy.”

Through Help to Buy purchasers with a five per cent deposit can benefit from an equity loan (interest-free for the first five years) from the Government of up to 20 per cent of the value of their brand-new home – which means they only have to take out a 75 per cent mortgage.

“People have leapt at the chance to buy a competitively priced new-build home with plenty of space at Montague Place,” says Sandra. “Many of our purchasers so far have been local to the area already and know it’s a great place to live, whatever your age. It’s an established residential neighbourhood, just half a mile from the M27 and with Southampton’s fantastic shopping and leisure facilities within easy reach.”

Transport links are excellent with Southampton Airport and Bitterne railway station just a mile from the development, while Southampton city centre offers a huge range of leisure opportunities including The Mayflower theatre, excellent restaurants and the stylish West Quay complex with over 100 shops. For fresh air fans, the beautiful 440 acre Itchen Valley Country Park is on your doorstep.
