The Bank of England last month unanimously voted to hold the Bank Rate at 0.5 per, a record low.  It is believed that the sharp fall in inflation to below the 2 per cent target was probably driven largely by temporary factors and was unlikely materially to affect the behaviour of households and businesses in such a way that is become self-perpetuating.

The Bank Rate affects every household and business and this is particularly true to those looking to get on the property ladder, expand their portfolio or enter property investment or development.  Southampton has always been a hot-spot outside of the London property market for property developers and investors.  With the attraction of two Universities bringing in collectively over 50,000.00 students the buy-to-let market is buoyant with student houses and new halls of residences in the City.

The Hampshire Chamber Asian Network is pleased to announce its second Property Investment and Development event being held at the Southampton Football Club on 19th March 2015, from 5.30 – 8.30 PM.  Jojar Singh, Chairman of the Hampshire Chamber Asian Network and Senior Property Solicitor in QualitySolicitors Knight Polson said “Listening to our members we are again putting on an event looking at the local property market.  Property Investment and Development in Southampton has changed since our last event in October 2013 and we are keen on hearing from the Economist of the Royal Bank of Scotland, Southampton City Council, Rothmans LLP, QS Knight Polson, Hughes Ellard and Belvoir Lettings on what they are experiencing in the economy and when acting for clients in acquiring and disposing of property in Southampton and the surrounding areas”.

As ever the interest in the property event has seen people come from far and wide before and tickets to this event are limited.  Mr. Singh added “I look forward to welcoming all property professionals working locally to the event which will be very informative and provide a great networking opportunity”.
