Iggy Pop joins impressive south coast line-up

Iggy Pop is the latest artist to be added to the impressive Isle of Wight Festival 2011 line-up.

He will be performing with the Stooges while the flamboyant Boy George and punk pioneer Joan Jett & The Blackhearts will also be making an appearance.

The Isle of Wight Festival celebrates its 10th birthday in 2011 and its line-up, mixing iconic artists with up and coming acts, so far includes:

MAIN STAGE:

Friday June 10th: Kings of Leon with more acts to be announced soon.

Saturday June 11th: Foo Fighters, Pulp, Iggy and the Stooges, Seasick Steve, Hurts, Stornoway and Lissie.

Sunday 12th June: Kasabian, Beady Eye, The Script, Plan B, Pixie Lott, Two Door Cinema Club, James Walsh, plus a special guest appearance from Jeff Beck.

BIG TOP:

Thursday 9th June: Boy George.

Friday June 10th: Joan Jett & The Blackhearts.

Saturday June 11th Night: Tom Jones and British Pink Floyd Show.

Saturday June 11th Afternoon: Wild Beasts, The Vaccines and Semi Precious Weapons.

Sunday June 12th: Manic Street Preachers, Public Image Ltd, Cast, Hadouken!, Nick Lowe and Brother.

You ain't wrong there.....that numpty gallagher and his band of merry men would normally be enough to keep most away. Still, with Iggy, foo fighters and a few other good acts glad I am going.

Iggy is proper punk-rock "royalty" imo! The man is a legend: intelligent, witty and unafraid. Modern musicians and pop (up)star(t)s could learn a lot from this guy!
