THE Scottish rockers Biffy Clyro blew away fans in the sixth of their eleven UK & Ireland Arena Tour shows.

In a sell out spectacle lasting two hours, the dedicated East Ayrshire trio treated a very varied but adoring crowd to a mix of old and new.

Not knowing quite what I was in for when I agreed to go to see them, I wasn’t disappointed. Some of the music wasn’t for me, but my Biffyfan fiancée loved every moment of it.

Opening with an emotive Different People, showcasing Simon Neil’s strong vocal talent, and concluding with a heart-pumping encore of Mountains; the band blasted through a crowd-pleasing set.

The hardcore fan base fully indulged in the opportunity to mosh at the epic outpour that is That Golden Rule and the entire crowd bounced and sang along to the ever-popular Bubbles. An impressive albumcover inspired stage set, incredible lighting display and the band’s unrelenting energy combined to animate the new double album, Opposites and incite the crowd to embrace a strong addition to a growing back catalogue.

Highlights from the new album included pounding performances of Black Chandelier; Stingin’ Belle and Biblical.
