HE may have quit Celebrity Big Brother, but now American soul singer Alexander O’Neal is heading to Hampshire.

O’Neal will be swapping the Channel 5 show for Eastleigh’s Concorde Club on February 13.

Alex will be bringing his band to the Stoneham Lane club where he is already guaranteed a full house.

Millions of TV viewers have been on the edge of their seats as the 61-year-old R&B singer and his housemates have been playing out the daily, fly-on-the-wall drama.

And Alex has been caught up with some a headline-hitting controversies involving former Corrie star Reg Morley and celebrity blogger Perez Hilton.

Alex chose to leave the house of his own accord and his shock departure was confirmed by the programme makers.

He is the third celebrity to leave the house outside its usual elimination process.

The Mississipi-born singer’s career spans more than 30 years and during the late ’80s he had a string of hits on both sides of the Atlantic.

His 1987 single Fake reached the top spot in the US Billboard charts and Criticize was a top five hit in the UK.

All his six albums have charted on both sides of the pond with him clocking up more than 162 weeks in the Guinness Book of Albums.

Alex is no stranger to reality TV.

In 2006 and 2007, he was one of the professional singers that paired up with a celebrity for the BBC show Just The Two Of Us. He also appeared in Celebrity Wife Swap.
