Let’s Rock Southampton has seen crazy wig, leg warmers and crimped hair take over the Common stretching as far as the eye can see.
And the costumes have come out in full force, storm troopers patrolling the field, yellow coats from Hi-de-Hi, ensuring everyone has fun and, of course, glam rockers with their wigs and inflatable guitars jamming along with the music.
DJ Pat Sharp and children’s TV presenter Dave Benson Phillips have been keeping the audience entertained in between acts.
But it has been the fans that have brought the house down, particularly Jive Bunny and the Math nixes and Boney M who had the crowd on their feet, swaying to the rhythm.
Unfortunately, pin-up legend Sam Fox was delayed in traffic and only had time for one song.
But she still entertained the crowd during her brief cameo and no-one was disappointed.
Other highlights included Hot Chocolate (above) and T’Pau. But the big draw is still to come with Nik Kershaw, Midge Ure and Tom Bailey of the Thompson Twins take the stage later tonight.
