HE'S performed with Stevie Wonder and Erykah Badu among others.
Now Omar is heading for Eastleigh's Concorde Club where he will play an intimate set with his own live band.
Since first breaking through in 1991 with his first releases on Gilles Petersons seminal Talking Loud label, he's built a reputation as a soul music Don.
After picking up an MBE for his outstanding contribution to the UK music scene, Omar’s latest album The Man is the strongest of his career.
The strong vocal remains, with fair reaching influences of soul, funk, latin and reggae remain, but with a more live feel.
It also features guests Soul II Souls’ Caron Wheeler, Germany’s Hidden Jazz Quartett, and legendary bass player Pino Palladino.
