MAVERICK and iconic British violinist Nigel Kennedy turns back the clock but adds a typical and traditional Kennedy twist as he performs an acoustic version of his ground breaking Four Seasons.

He will be at Bournemouth Pavilion Theatre on May 23.

Titled The New Four Seasons, Nigel will take the audience on a journey through the seasons with extraordinary flair, taking on new interpretations of the music whilst keeping the Four Seasons at its root.

The first half will feature Nigel’s own critically acclaimed compositions, entitled Dedications. These pieces feature melodic charm, elegance and beauty as well as great virtuosity – all characteristics of Nigel’s playing which have made him one of the most highly-regarded violinists in the world.

The Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra join Nigel for the Southern England tour.

Kennedy recorded Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons back in 1989 and sold over two million copies, making history to become one of the best-selling classical albums of all time. In 2015, Kennedy revisited The Four Seasons with a new interpretation, embracing new developments in music technology, styles and instruments. Kennedy trained at the Menuhin School and the Juilliard School of Music and has since led trailblazing projects, which have seen him perform on electric violins, combining jazz, rock and classical idioms. The Oxford Philharmonic has worked with Kennedy on numerous occasions in the past and in a variety of musical styles and collaborative settings.
