COURTEENERS have announced a new 12 date UK tour and will return to Southampton for a big Friday night show.

The Manchester indie stars will play the O2 Guildhall on November 11 soon after the release of their much anticipated fifth album Mapping the Rendezvous on October 21. Support will come from Clean Cut Kid.

The news came as a brand new song No One Will Ever Replace Us had its first play on Phil Clifton’s evening show on Radio X.

After last week’s announcement of You Me at Six, supported by rising stars Vant, coming to Southampton, it’s another big autumn date at the Guildhall.

Lead singer Liam Fray and the band were last in town two years ago when they packed out the Guildhall with songs like Not Nineteen Forever and What Took You So Long? from their 2007 breakthrough album St Jude and tunes like Saboteur, Lose Control and Are You in Love with a Notion? from later hit compilations Concrete Love and Anna. In the words of one of the band’s other famous songs, few who saw it will forget How Good It Was.

Last weekend Courteeners were one of the main stage stars at Reading and Leeds festivals. They were also a highlight at Isle of Wight 2015, the same year they also drew an astonishing 25,000 to a homecoming show at Heaton Park, Manchester.

The Courteeners play O2 Southampton on Friday November 11. Tickets general sale at gigsandtours.com and ticketmaster.co.uk on Friday at 9am.
