IF their elusive frontman decides to show, Babyshambles will take to the stage at Southampton Guildhall on Tuesday.

Pete Doherty didn’t turn up for his recent Joiners gig, but Scene South is assured things will be different for this tour, the band’s first and only one of 2009.

Fans will be treated to some new tracks from their upcoming album, as well as classics from Down In Albion and Shotter’s Nation.

Formed by Doherty during a hiatus from his former band The Libertines, Babyshambles have received vast tabloid attention because of his personal life.

This could be the last chance to see the foursome live for a while as Doherty has confirmed plans to concentrate on his solo career and a return to tour with The Libertines after a six-year break in 2010.

Babyshambles are Peter Doherty, Adam Ficek, Drew McConnell and Mick Whitnall.

For an interview with drummer Adam, see Tuesday’s Scene South.
