STORNOWAY began quietly one freshers week at Oxford University, when lead singer and principal songwriter Brian Briggs approached Jon Ouin (keys/banjo/electric guitar/cello) and asked if he happened to like Teenage Fanclub.
They began playing music together soon afterwards in the dining hall and immediately set to work on their own fledgling compositions.Stornoway were the first unsigned band ever to be booked for the Pyramid Stage at the Glastonbury Festival.
Five years after the release of their 2010 debut Beachcomber’s Windowsill the folk pop quartet are back with a number 12 album position for their third full-length album Bonxie.
They have gone on to become indie nu-folk favourites and return to Hampshire to perform at Southampton’s Engine Rooms on Tuesday.
