GRAMMY Award winning rock and blues star Warren Haynes will be stopping off in Southampton as part of his UK tour.

Warren, revered as one of the finest guitar players in the world, has been recognised as a cornerstone of the American music landscape.

He is the latest American blues icon to appear at the city’s 1865 Club in Brunswick Square. His appearance on Tuesday ill be in support of his latest studio solo album Ashes and Dust.

Throughout his prolific career he has been part of three of the greatest live groups in rock history – Allman Brothers Band, Gov’t Mule and the Dead.

His virtuosic artistry has led to thousands of unforgettable performances and millions of album and track sales.

On his newest solo album Ashes & Dust, he has put together one of his most musically rich and personal albums to date.

It also showcases new dimensions of Haynes as a guitarist, seeing him dive deeper into acoustic guitar and playing more slide guitar than he has played in a long time.

The album, only the third that Haynes has ever released under his own name, encompasses beautiful acoustic arrangements, a rootsy/Americana soundscape, folk-based song writing and soulful, honeyed vocals.

Haynes is also sets out on this tour ahead of the release of the new album from his band Gov’t Mule, entitled The Tel-Star Studios.

The album consists of the band’s very first and never before released demos made in June 1994 at Tel-Star Studios in Bradenton, Florida.

These newly mixed and mastered recordings feature the original line-up – Warren Haynes, Allen Woody and Matt Abts – and capture the rawness and excitement of the earliest days of Gov’t Mule.
