IN the tradition of The Kinks and the Small Faces and around the same time as Ian Dury and Squeeze, Chas & Dave wrote and recorded exceptionally witty songs about life in London, reminiscent of the great Music Hall artists many years previously.

Still currently selling out venues all over the UK, Chas & Dave are as active as ever, recently releasing a new live album/DVD, their first in well over a decade. Previously only available at shows as a strictly limited edition release, ‘Not Just Anuvver Beano’ was filmed and recorded at their Xmas Beano at the Hammersmith Apollo in 2015. The release marks the 40th anniversary of their debut album ‘One Fing ‘n’ Anuvver’.

Now Chas & Dave are back on the road, performing throughout the UK, with a brand-new one-hour show entitled ‘Chas & Dave: The Fully Story Live’, which includes all the hits the duo are known for including ‘Gertcha’, ‘Sideboard Song’, ‘Rabbit’, ‘Ain’t No Pleasing You’, ‘Margate’ and more.

They will be at Ferneham Hall in Fareham on Thursday.

In a career spanning 50 years and counting, they are one of Britain’s longest running and best loved rock acts, creating a sound that is unique and rockin' to boot and more, constantly adding surprises to the set. They certainly went down a storm at last year's Wickham Festival as well as Southampton's Common People festival.

Playing to thousands of delighted people at the Glastonbury festivals in 2005 and 2007, their contribution to popular culture was recently recognized by BBC Four with an hour-long documentary detailing their career and influence. The hugely popular show featured input from Jools Holland, Phill Jupitus, and Pete Doherty among others. That recognition was enhanced when they were invited to play the finale of the 2013 Royal Variety Performance with a rousing sing-song featuring the likes of Gary Barlow, Robbie Williams, Mary J Blige, and Jessie J singing along to 'London Girls'!

Their first studio album in 20 years - the critically acclaimed That’s What Happens’ (2013) - saw Chas & Dave return to the UK album charts as well as their roots with a collection of early R&B, skiffle and rock n’ roll classics alongside new takes on songs of their own and featured Albert Lee, Martin Taylor, Buddy Holly and The Crickets’ drummer J. I Allison, Jools Holland and Hugh Laurie.

The following year, Chas & Dave performed a sold-out debut show at London’s most iconic venue, the Royal Albert Hall, and made numerous headline-grabbing festival appearances including Sonisphere at Knebworth. They were also recognized by the esteemed Nordoff Robbins Foundation who awarded Chas & Dave the 2014 Silver Clef Icon award at a ceremony that included fellow award-winners Pharrell Williams, Paloma Faith, Sir Tom Jones, and Giorgio Moroder.

They recently toured with Status Quo and performed at the VE Day 70 Concert filmed for BBC TV alongside Gregory Porter, Catherine Jenkins, and many more. In 2016, their music and achievements were recognized further by being presented with the Boisdale Club Lifetime Achievement award by Jools Holland, and by having their song “I’m Going Back” used for Heathrow Airport’s first ever Christmas advertising campaign – which has been hugely popular all over the world.
