THE Global Voyages spring season at Southampton’s Turner Sims starts with a trip to Mali next week Performing as part of a series that journeys its audience around the world from the comfort of their seats, guitarist Vieux Farka Touré will take to the stage on Thursday.
Showcasing music from his new album The Secret, Vieux has been dubbed ‘the Hendrix of the Sahara’ and is the son of the great Malian guitarist Ali Farka Touré.
His unique desert blues sounds and trance-like guitar solos, together with his charismatic and energetic stage persona, captivate audiences all over the world.
