ON HER first full tour of the UK, Paloma Faith absolutely rocked the BIC with her fabulous and flamboyant style.

In a current wave music which focuses on stars and their alternative, often eccentric style, it is safe to say Paloma fits in beautifully, wearing a powder blue dress which opened at the waist, to reveal matching trousers. So far, so Paloma.

To see her live, the audience know that this show, Fall To Grace, is just as much about the spectacle as it is about the music. So, this gives us plenty to see, even when she’s bounding off the stage and into to the crowd of fans to shake their hand and introduce herself.

Paloma is loud and showy, but she’s also able to show her vulnerable side, which shows she’s a true girl’s girl, belting out hits including 30 Minute Love Affair, Picking Up The Pieces, and Stone Cold Sober.

Joining her on the stage, was her full band, and the support act, Laura Mvula, who set up the evening with panache, as she brought her fantastic soul tunes to the stage at Bournemouth.

This really was a night where you got two great acts for the price of one, and twice during show, Paloma paused the music to allow for a short monologue of her thoughts.

One of the statements she made several times reflects the show perfectly: “We come into life with nothing and we end up leaving with lots.”
