Reunion to rekindle Top Rank memories

GO back to the heady days of Southampton’s Top Rank.

A dance and ice skating reunion will be held at The Bridge pub in Woolston on Saturday February 23.

This is the third Top Rank Reunion hosted by former ice rink DJ Mike Joyce which for the first time combines both popular venues The Top Rank Suite and The Top Rank Ice Rink in its celebrations.

This year will feature the first live appearance in almost ten years of one of the ice rink’s legends, DJ Bob Deene who retired in February 2003 and is coming up from the West Country especially for the event.

DJ Tony Francis will also appear at the event harking back to the days before the ice rink shut its doors for the final time in 1988.

Anyone who enjoyed the venues in the 1960s, 70s or 80s is invited along to the event, which will raise funds for Countess Mountbatten Hospice.
