SOME of the biggest names in music, theatre and comedy grace the Portsmouth Guildhall stage this autumn and winter.

The East Endcomedian Micky Flanagan will be bringing laughs on October 2 and everyone’s favourite Northerner Jason Manford will be bringing his brand new tour on October 4 to 5.

Russell Brand is bringing his Messiah Complex World on October 16 and gentle giant Greg Davies has added extra dates to his tour due to popular demand. He will be on stage on November 15.

Laughs aplenty will come from Russell Kane on February 26 and Geordie lass Sarah Millican on March 26.

Musical treats will come from band-of-the-moment Bastille who come to Portsmouth on October 9 as part of their biggest tour to date.

Eighties fans will be treated to a triple-header of the decade with Go West, Hue and Cry and The Christians all playing on November 12.

If the ’50s and ’60s are your preferred decade then The Ratpack Live with Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jnr and Frank Sinatra on October 18 could be your thing.

Fresh from Glastonbury, Liam Gallagher’s band Beady Eye will be playing on November 19 and Scottish band Texas will be celebrating the release of their eighth album on November 22.

Irish crooner Daniel O’Donnell will also be gracing the UK with a Hampshire appearance on May 6.

Sassy jazz singer Caro Emerald will be bringing all her finger-clicking songs on September 25.

Musical master Jools Holland will be performing with his rhythm and blues orchestra on December 21.

Classical lovers will be delighted at the variety on offer.

The Very Best of John Barry with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra takes place on the October 3.

The Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra is playing a number of shows throughout the year.

They will be celebrating Wagners’ 200th Birthday on October 11 as well as presenting Musical Pictures on October 24.

They’ll be delivering Pranks and Penitence on December 5 and celebrating Christmas on December 20.

The New Year will see them give A Taste of Spain on January 23 as well as many other shows. The London Symphony Orchestra will also be appearing on March 21.

Best-selling author Michael Morpurgo will be telling audiences about his new book on September 28.

Doug Allen, cameraman on shows such as Blue Planet and Planet Earth will also be giving a look at life behind the lens on October 20.

Strictly professional Brendan Cole is set to dazzle audiences with his Licence to Thrill tour that comes to Portsmouth on February 20.

The opera that appeals to all ages, Bizet’s Carmen will be proving why it’s such a crowd favourite on March 9.

Iconic ballet The Nutcracker will be astounding audiences on November 26, and Britain’s biggest burlesque extravaganza is hitting the Guildhall on October 31 and inviting audiences to dress up and join in.
