NOW in its 13th year, the Isle of Wight Festival will once again feature a selection of the biggest and best headline artists, alongside the hottest new and established acts.

To celebrate another year of the much loved event, Festival organiser John Giddings, pictured, has chosen 13 highlights that lie ahead.

1) Finally, we’ve got them and the Isle of Wight Festival is the only place you can see them this summer as we have the UK & Ireland exclusive. Red Hot Chili Peppers headline Saturday June 14. One of the most exciting rock bands of the modern era and judging by the performances I have seen previously, it will be a highlight in the music history of the Festival.

2) On Sunday night we have a great bill to close the weekend. Fall Out Boy, Suede and the Kings of Leon will close the Festival in style on the Main Stage followed by our massive Fireworks display.

Head to the Big Top for a sing-a-long with Travis bringing an end to another unforgettable weekend.

3) We also have some great new talent appearing over the weekend. Check out Swim Deep, The Strypes, Deap Valley, Chlöe Howl and many more.

4) The gates open on Thursday June 12 and the festivities begin. Make sure you head to the Big Top for some retro entertainment with The Doors Alive, From the Jam, Inspiral Carpets and the one and only Boy George.

5) I love the heritage of our Festival. We have had great performances from Donovan, Procol Harum, The Zombies, Judy Collins, Melanie and this year I am really looking forward to seeing The Move. I remember seeing them as a young lad at the City Hall, St Albans in 1968 with my mates.

6) BT Sport Field of Dreams is back and will be screening the World Cup. England play Italy on June 14 and fans can watch it live on the big screens.

7) Life’s a Beach – it’s always great fun with cocktails and live music. This year it’s back and bigger than before.

8) For something a bit different, you can book yourself a soak in a hot tub with Bathing Under the Sky or you can take advantage of our posh loos with When Nature Calls.

9) Throughout the Festival there is always something to keep you entertained from poetry in the Kashmir, listening to world music in the Bohemian Woods or disco dancing in the Hipshaker you will never get bored.

Seek and you shall find.

10) We’ve got loads of accommodation, from camping to glamping in Tangerine Fields, Pod Pads and Eve’s Tipis. So, round up your mates and sail on a mini adventure you won’t forget.

11) I always love the Silent Disco watching people with their headphones on, grooving and singing at the top of their voices.

12) Octopus’s Garden will be back with fantastic food from around the world. You can just sit down, relax or even just enjoy a nice cup of tea!

13) Finally the weather forecast – I am keeping my fingers, arms and legs crossed and let’s hope they are right about the summer heatwave.
