CHRISTMAS is fast approaching and one of Southampton's best loved indie nights returns for a festive special.

Long Live Rock and Roll will be holding a Christmas party at Lennon's in Onslow Road tonight for its annual extravaganza.

The club night was a popular fixture at the turn of the decade, hosting bands such as The Kooks, Jack Penate, The Maccabees, Klaxons, Foals, and Mystery Jets.

Tonight promoter Ally Wolf will be spinning the best indie and rock & roll for a nostalgic extravaganza.

Ally said: "Long Live Rock and Roll  was an indie institution at Lennons during the 00s - bands, live long friendships and even marriages were formed there whilst dancing to the latest Indie hits, drinking the famous rum and cokes watching the newest bands.

"Our annual Xmas Party is a chance for everyone to re-live those times, catch up with loads of old faces and prepare themselves for one more Lennons hangover."
