Local theatre company Unexpected Places, and drama class provider Acting UP, will be running two free puppetry workshops for their local community thanks to funding from O2’s Think Big programme.
Artistic Director Rosanna Sloan said;
“This is a great opportunity for our local community to come together and try something new. We are thankful to O2’s Think Big programme for enabling us to provide these workshops completely free of charge. I hope that all participants, whether children or teenagers or adults, will be excited to make and move their very own puppet.”
The first workshop will be held at Emsworth Primary School for Year 5 pupils, and has been organised in conjunction with Emsworth Arts Trail.
The second workshop will take place at Hamble Village Memorial Hall, in Hamble-le-rice, Southampton, in half-term on Wednesday 27th May from 10am-12 noon and is open to everyone.
During each workshop participants will make their very own penguin marionette puppet, before being taught how to make them come alive by director Rosanna Sloan.
