FANS of Phil Collins and Genesis may be interested to hear about a show visiting The Lights Andover, on Sunday September 5

The And Finally Big Band is an offshoot of the critically acclaimed And Finally… Phil Collins.

Show producer and drummer Tim Harper has always wanted to create a traditional jazz swing orchestra in the style of Phil’s own big band and this is it.

The original Phil Collins Big Band was a side project, which performed in 1996 and 1998. The group presented big band renditions of Phil Collins and Genesis songs. The group was primarily an instrumental act, with Collins remaining behind the drums, like the early days of Genesis and rarely singing at performances. Initially the band did a short tour in 1996 culminating in a live filming of their appearance at the ‘Montreux Jazz Festival’. The band released one album… A Hot Night In Paris, recorded in 1998 and released in 1999.

The And Finally Big Band accurately recreates a combination of both of Phil’s live Big Band shows using the original musical arrangements and performed by a twenty world class musicians. Such great classics as Sussudio, Two Hearts, In the Air Tonight, Invisible Touch and many more of Phil’s compositions are given the huge Big Band treatment.

Phil’s original shows had a guest vocalist appearance by Tony Bennett.

For this show Chris Lloyd, of Talon fame, joins the band for a cameo performance singing some classic swing standards of the Big Band era.

This is a unique two-hour show combining the rare Phil Collins performances with an unforgettable big band experience performed by the very best of UK musicians.
