THE spectacular rock ‘n’ roll variety show That’ll be the Day has reached a major milestone as it perpetually tours the UK.
The popular feel-good show is celebrating it’s 30th anniversary and it’s back for its 19th consecutive summer season in Bournemouth.
The successful formula is its clever mix of happy pop songs from the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s combined with saucy yet safe end-of-the-pier humour (no gratuitous swearing), underpinned by nostalgic overhead projections.
The five-piece live backing band are multi-talented musicians and vocalists; the front five performers are compelling entertainers at the peak of their powers.
The show’s pace is quick and slick with lots of tight medleys and there is forensic attention to authentic detail with costumes and wigs so that ten performers seem like many more.
The show’s founder, producer and director is Trevor Payne who also happens to be one of it’s key performers . Mixing music and comedy he forms one of the greatest comedy partnerships with fellow long-term member Gary Anderson.
Expect the usual fun, frolics and saucy seaside humour.
This is a show renowned for its charity fund-raising, including Help for Heroes, Childline, and now working for Make a Wish.
Early booking is advised as this ever-popular show attracts a big audience of music lovers ready to party!
‘This show just gets better and better!’ said The Telegraph.
Performances run from Wednesday, September 2 – Saturday, September 5 and Wednesday, September 9 – Saturday, September 12.
