A COLLECTION of 35 prints by French artist Henri Matisse has opened at Winchester Discovery Centre.
Matisse: Drawing With Scissors runs until Sunday, March 18 in the venue’s main gallery.
It features some well known images produced during the final years of the artist who died in 1954.
Today, his work still influences fashion houses, advertisers, cartoonists and interior designers.
The exhibition, which is a Hayward Touring exhibition from the Southbank Centre, includes iconic images such as The Snail and The Blue Nudes and Sorrow Of The King, above.
Several events are being held at the centre to celebrate Matisse, including a talk from biographer Hilary Spurling.
