JLS ticket demand has soared by 300 per cent following their split announcement, it has been revealed.

OK so the promoters have failed to tell us exactly how many tickets they’d sold before this week’s news, but still it sounds impressive.

They’re X-Factors greatest success story, having been showered with awards, flogged more than ten million records and topped the charts on five occasions.

But nothing lasts forever and the rumour was ticket sales were pretty slow for their latest tour, five years after the boyband were runners-up to Alexandra Burke in the TV talent contest.

So, by stroke of genius, Aston Merrygold, Marvin Humes, Jonathan ‘JB’ Gill and Ortise Williams, are to go their separate ways – but only after a sea of cash comes their way.

Rebrand your tour with the word farewell, bring out the same records repackaged as a goodbye greatest hits album and Bob’s your Uncle, the tills start ringing.

That’s seriously shrewd.

Ten years from now, fully expect Marvin’s soon to be born child with Rochelle from the Saturdays to be body popping on stage at a sold out comeback tour.

Well if it’s good enough for the Spice Girls and Cruz Beckham….

They’ll be back. And if I’m wrong, I’ll eat Ortise’s hat.
