SAY you'll be there!

I can hear the groans from here, but I for one would be keen on yet another dose of girl power.

Five were set to become four as the remainder of the Spice Girls looked set to celebrate their 20th anniversary this year without Victoria Beckham.

But now, as the debut single which catapulted the band to international stardom approaches its two decades, there are hints that the whole band reunion may be on.

Melanie Brown has dropped a tasty titbit while being interviewed about her new TV show which, ironically, sees two celebrities going head to head in routines where they mime songs.

The singer, known as Scary Spice in the girls pop heyday, said "hopefully all" of the band would be celebrating 20 years since the release of Wannabe.

One of Britain's most successful ever musical exports, The Spice Girls - also including Emma Bunton, Melanie Chisholm and Geri Halliwell - were a cultural phenomenon.

Their debut album, Spice, made them the fastest-selling British act since the Beatles. Scary, Sporty, Baby, Ginger and Posh were introduced to royalty, pictured with Nelson Mandela and performed with Luciano Pavarotti.

All five have remained in showbiz carving out successful careers and piles of cash, most notably Beckham who alongside former England captain husband David has amassed a £500 million fortune, is mum to four mini Beckhams and has her own international fashion empire.

I understand her decision to bow out of the comeback, saying the 2012 Olympics Closing Ceremony was a good time to leave the party.

I wouldn't expect her to embark on a fully fledged world tour, but perhaps she can be persuaded by her old pals and all the Spice Girls fans out there to have one last go at 'If you wanna be my lover, you gotta get with my friends...'

Come on Victoria, Spice Up Your Life!
