WELL Snoop Dogg must have been very good in a previous life. He’s been reincarnated as the King of the Jungle.

Yes that’s right. The rap legend behind hits like Gin n Juice and Still A G Thing has dropped the Dogg and is changing his stage name to Snoop Lion.

Apparently he underwent a spiritual and artistic rebirth while in Jamaica recording his next album, handily entitled Reincarnation.

Rap had become too easy he decided and he’s now planning on devoting his career to reggae.

Now Snoop is hardly the first musician to find himself, turn to religion or even change his name to something far more ludicrous, but my initial thought was that he must have been enjoying the delights of the Caribbean a bit too much.

On reflection, though, perhaps it’s all above board. He’s had enough of living the life of a gangsta rapper, encouraging violence and generally being a bad role model.

Maybe all this national pride swimming around my veins at the moment has made me a bit soft, but I’m hoping he’ll be producing some inspiring and utterly rip-roaring reggae, the likes of which we haven’t encountered since the days of the legend that is Bob Marley.

Don’t worry about a thing Snoop, every little thing is gonna be alright.
