THE Daily Echo has launched its Fair Deal for Drivers campaign after revealing how former clampers are stinging drivers with extortionate parking tickets.

We aim to expose unfair charges and practices hitting hard pressed drivers where it hurts as well as pressing for change.

Following our previous campaign, Give Clampers the Boot, the Government outlawed private operators from clamping.

But Daily Echo has now revealed how notorious former clampers are back in business, this time handing out sky high parking tickets.

Some are even falsely claiming to be able to use sensitive DVLA data to hunt drivers down and offering no independent right to appeal.

Readers who have been stung by unfair parking tickets should contact patrick.knox@dailyecho.co.uk or phone 023 8042 4501.
