Hampshire police are hunting burglars who ransacked a house before making their getaway on a motorbike.

The raiders stole three laptops and jewellery from the home in Woodlands Road, Ashurst.

It is believed the offenders got into the garden via an unlocked garden gate. They broke a ground floor window at the side of the house and reached in to open the unlocked window, sometime between 8am and 4pm.

One neighbour spotted seeing two men leave the house on a motorbike Police at Lyndhurst are appealing for witnesses who saw unusual activity at a house in Woodlands Road, Ashurst.

PC Dean Miller is appealing for information from anyone who saw the two men on the motorbike or who noticed any unusual activity or noise in Woodlands Road on November 13.

He added: “This is a good time to remind all residents of the importance of locking gates, windows and doors when properties are vacant. And keys should not be left in locks.

“It could make all the difference between a burglar carrying on with the crime or giving up because it is too much trouble.”
