THIEVES broke into a recycling centre and stole sacks of second hand clothes.

They targeted a council-owned facility at Milford Road, New Milton, and made off with at least 150kg of clothing after cutting padlocks on the entrance gates.

The items, including two holdall-style bags, were stolen between 4.15pm on Monday and 6.45am the next day.

A police spokesman said: “The entrance is from the A337 and the containers are visible from the road. We need to know about any people or vehicles seen there at the time because the site was locked and no one should have been near it.”
