WHEN IT comes to getting help to reach your goal, they do not come much better than Saints legend Matt Le Tissier, pictured.

But rather than working his magic with a football, the former midfielder has whipped out his mobile phone to support the Daily Echo’s Final Push Campaign.

He is urging Daily Echo readers to follow his lead and make the small donation that would make such a big difference to patients fighting cancer.

The Red and White Appeal needs just £250,000 to hit its £1.76m target to build and complete a specialist state-of-the-art treatment centre for blood cancer patients as Southampton General Hospital. Although it is still a large sum of money, if every person in Southampton donated just £1, the fundraising mission would be complete.

So the Daily Echo has teamed up with the Red and White appeal and launched a special text number to make it easier than ever to make a donation. Thanks to a dedicated text number donating your quid could not be easier and takes less than a minute.

To make your £1 donation text echo01 £1 to 70070. And if you have not got to grips with texting yet, fear not, you can donate by calling 023 8079 4093.
