TWO animal feed silos installed without planning permission have sparked noise protests.

The silos are right on the edge of a 65-acre field between Fordingbridge and Whitsbury and are only a few feet from two houses.

Pig farmer Mark Nutting has applied for planning permission to retain them and add a third.

But objectors told members of New Forest District Council’s planning committee that it took almost one-and-a-half hours to fill the two existing silos.

And feed hitting the inside of the containers made a loud clattering sound, councillors were told.

The committee agreed that the silos should be moved and deferred the application to enable officers to negotiate with the applicant.
