THE DEDICATION of Hampshire nurses who have gone above and beyond their call of duty is being recognised with a host of special awards.
The Director of Nursing Awards has been launched and patients now have the chance to nominate a nurse who they feel went that extra mile during their treatment.
The awards are open to nurses who work at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital, in Winchester, as well as hospitals in Andover and Basingstoke.
Donna Green, chief nurse, said: “We would love to hear from patients or visitors who feel that individuals or teams have gone beyond the call of duty to give exceptional care. We are encouraging patients and the public to nominate nursing and therapy staff across all of our hospital sites.”
Nominations for the awards can be made up until the end of May 2013 and nominees will be invited to an awards ceremony in June.
To nominate call Karen O’Hanlon on 01256 313435 or email dona@hhft.nhs.uk.
