A MAN was attacked from behind by two robbers as he walked down a Southampton street.

The attackers tried to snatch a bag from the shoulder of the 29-year-old as he walked along Brintons Road at about 11.15pm on Tuesday.

The contents of the bag spilled on to the ground and the man was then searched by the robbers, who stole a Nintendo 3DS XL and took his BlackBerry phone from his pocket.

The victim received minor facial injuries in the incident, but did not require hospital treatment.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to call Southampton Central police station on 101.
