PROSECUTORS have completed their case against two men accused of murdering a Southampton man and torching his body in his car.
Jurors yesterday heard the final facts in the case against Afrim and Arben Lleshi, who are accused of killing 29-year-old Agim Hoxha last year.
His body was discovered in a car on fire in Chilworth Drove, Chilworth, in the early hours of April 10.
Today the first of the men’s defence cases will get underway, with jurors told that Arben Lleshi, 25, will take the stand to give evidence.
It will be the first time that the Albanian born man, who has lived in Southampton for many years, will have his say over the allegations after exercising his right to make no comment following his arrest in Rome last May.
He was extradited to the UK where he was charged with murder and a second count of peverting the course of justice.
The law surrounding that process means that police cannot interview a suspect, only give him the right to make comment, which he refused.
Arben Lleshi, of Onslow Road, Southampton, and Afrim Lleshi, 36, of Shirley Road, Shirley, both deny murder.
Afrim has admitted peverting the course of justice.
