A Winchester homelessness charity is expanding its base.
Emmaus Hampshire, which provides work and accommodation for the homeless, is increasing its provision from 24 to 26 people.
The charity will build two new suites on site along with some additional workshop space and is currently raising funds for the project after gaining planning permission.
Chairman Alison Thompson said: “Homelessness continues its inexorable rise in Hampshire and so we are determined to do what we can to increase our provision for those unfortunate enough to be forced onto the streets.
“The unique combination of accommodation, work, companionship and support offered by Emmaus Communities is needed now, more than ever.”
