THE chairman of Lymington Conservatives has been suspended days after she launched a stinging attack on her own constituency association, the Daily Echo understands.

Lady Georgina Craufurd spoke out after party colleagues picked a New Milton councillor rather than a local member as the candidate for the county council elections in May.

Lady Georgina described the behaviour of New Forest West Conservative Association (NFWCA) over the selection of Cllr Alan O’Sullivan as so bad it could prompt some members of the Lymington branch to desert the party.

Philip Daubney, chairman of NFWCA, refused to comment, saying it was an internal matter for the association.
