Rachel to run to improve treatments for skin disease
9:52am Monday 11th February 2013 in News
Southampton nurse Rachel Sutch
A HAMPSHIRE nurse will be ditching the scrubs to take on the might of a marathon to help improve treatments for her patients.
Rachel Sutch, a dermatology nurse at the Royal South Hants Hospital, has signed up to tackle the London Marathon in April to raise vital funds for the British Skin Foundation (BSF).
The 52-year-old, who will be part of a team of six, is not only busy training but also organising fundraising events to help boost her fundraising total.
Every penny raised by Rachel will go straight towards funding vital research into skin disease and skin cancer.
Rachel said: “As a dermatology nurse, I thought it would be fitting to run for BSF as I believe this is a charity that needs more recognition and funding. Without the amazing support from my family, friends and colleagues, none of this would be possible.”
