DOZENS of homes are this afternoon without water after a pipe burst in a Hampshire community.

Southern Water have received numerous calls from residents after taps ran dry in parts of Chandler's Ford.

Homes in Hazel Close, Ashdown Road, Elm Grove, Walnut Close, Maytree Road and flats in Stewart House are all thought to be affected.

Southern Water told residents they shut off the mains at around 2pm following the incident and are not able to say how long the water supply will be out of action.
