LONGPARISH School has said goodbye to its longstanding caretaker Kay Oliver, who is handing back her keys to the school after 26 years in the job.
After saying her farewell to pupils and staff at the final assembly before half-term, she said: “I won’t miss the job particularly, but I will miss the children and staff.
“I came here originally because I wanted something convenient as I had family ties.”
As a farewell gift she received a framed picture of the school, flowers and a voucher.
Now she has more time on her hands she is planning to enjoy her hobby of walking and will learn to crochet – as well as enjoying a Caribbean cruise.
