It makes sense to wish to come out of the EU for a few reasons and Marta Anreassen's reasons as the whistle blowing ex financial director of the EU are purely financial. My reason for once being a UKIP party member was that and the fact that we are too small a nation to endure the massive unstoppable immigration our membership was bringing from the EU. This is not xenophobic, it is common sense. Unlike Marta I do not believe dodgy Daves promise of a referendum in 2017 and have myself joined the Labour party as the one most likely to rid us of the anti working class party at the next election.

If she was elected as a UKIP representative but now supports the conservative view, then surely she must resign her seat. Afterall it was members of an opposing view that elected her, and as they had the majority, it is that group that should be heard in Europe. Is that not our practise with democracy ?

I agree with your point but i think you must be somewhat deluded if you think we live in a democracy, if we lived in a democracy then our leaders would listen to the people,instead we are totally ignored not just on the E.U. referendum but on all manner of things. Even gay marriage was forced through against the majority of M.Ps wishes let alone the wider public,Labour / Conservatives / LibDems all want to stay in Europe but my understanding is that the majority want out but we are denied a referendum oh yes Mr U turn Cameron says we can have one after 2015 until he decides to change his mind if indeed he should happen to be in power. Any MP/MEP who's elected as a member of a party should by law resign they're seat before joining another party.

I'm a Tory but have always believed that we vote in a person because of the political party they're in so if they're no longer in that party then they were not elected so should resign.

There is still all to play for in the Eastleigh by-election with Sundays latest poll showing the following: Conservative ( other liberals) 31%, LibDems 29% ( only 8% nationaly), UKIP 21% ( 15% nationaly) and New Labour 13%....so if you don't want one of the two liberal parties ( liberal coalition ) to win in Eastleigh and you don't want to waste your vote on PC New Labour then vote for probably the best candidate standing; who represents people from all backgrounds and all ages, vote for Diane James and the UK Independence Party. Make history in Eastleigh and vote for the only party that will give the UK hope for the future and say it as it is, vote UKIP.

When the Tory MEPs are wiped from the board in 2014 by UKIP in the South Marta that will be the end of your trips to Brussels.

"Supposed to be" yes southy. But we all know the reality.

Personally I'd like to see the party system abolished entirely. Rid us of the tribalism of oppositional politics, and have representatives ally themselves only on each issue in turn. Horse-trading serves no one well, and the party whip robs us of democratic representation.
