Charity collection in memory of Ringwood teenager Jade Clark
A CHARITY collection will be held at a special event to remember popular Ringwood teenager Jade Clark this weekend.
Organisers of the event say the money will go to a charity chosen by Jade's family.
The event, intended for family and friends, will take place on Saturday at Carvers Recreation Ground in Ringwood and also include a balloon release in tribute to the 16-year-old young firefigher.
Police are still hunting for the driver of a Volvo XC90, who fled the scene of the fatal collision on the A31 near Ringwood before police arrived on Sunday, February 24.
A reward to help find the driver has reached £5,000 after Ringwood-based Churchill Retirement Living offered £4,000 to add to the initial £1,000 reward from Crimestoppers.
The Volvo XC90 was one of several involved in the horrific collision, although is believed to have been the first to hit Jade's red scooter.
Posters displaying the reward and type of car are being printed and distributed in an attempt to inform as many people as possible.
One of the organisers of Saturday's event said they were expecting a lot of people to attend, especially with a proposed motorcycle rideout also taking place that day for Jade.
Hundreds of scooter riders are expected to attend the event, from clubs all over Dorset and Southampton.
The balloon release will take place at 6pm.
Police say they cannot be sure about the colour of the Volvo XC90 but appeal to anyone who sees one with damage to the front to contact Dorset Police on 101 quoting incident number 24:993.
