MORE than 150 children were given a roaring surprise at a Southampton school when a giant plastic dinosaur paid a visit.

Pupils at Bitterne Church of England School in Peartree Avenue braved the cold weather outside to take part in dino-fun including doing the Gangnam Style dance.

The dinosaur, which is three metres tall and eight metres long and in the back of a flat-back lorry, is part of Sainsbury’s events in the lead-up to Red Nose Day on Friday.

The Sainsbury’s store manager for Bournemouth, Damian Fancy, said: “Despite the weather the kids went absolutely nuts when they saw the dinosaur.

“There was plenty of screaming and shouting and the reception was amazing.”
