RESIDENTS can quiz police about the looming closure of Shirley police station.

A public meeting will take place from 6.30pm-8pm next Wednesday in the Hayward Room in Redbridge fire station.

Proposals to move officers and staff from the Shirley Safer Neighbourhoods Team (SNT) to a new community office being developed at the fire station will be discussed.

The move is part of Hampshire Constabulary’s Estate Development Programme to save £50m by streamlining resources.

Contact 023 8067 0884 or email Julie.knight@ hampshire.pnn.police.uk to book a place at the meeting.
