DOZENS of demonstrators are expected to protest in Southampton today against the controversial bedroom tax.

The Government tax will cut the housing benefit of people living in council or social housing by the number of ‘spare bedrooms’ in their homes.

And at 1pm today at the West Quay shopping centre protestors will show their opposition to the tax, which they say will leave affected families with less money to live on.

It is one of 57 protest events that will be held across the country.
