CONCERN is growing today for a missing Hampshire man whose car was found abandoned and unlocked in a farmer’s field.

Alex Child, 36, has been missing since Saturday evening after vanishing from his mum’s home.

Since then his unlocked gold/yellow coloured Morris Marina Coupe car has been found abandoned in a farmer’s field in Seamark Road, Brooksend, Birchington, Kent.

Officers from Kent police have carried out a search for Alex but were unable to locate him.

It is known the car stopped at a petrol station on its way to Kent in Surrey to fill up with fuel.

Now police, who have not been able to find him despite are appealing for anyone who saw the car on it journey from Hampshire to Kent to come forward. They say he is an unusual and classic car and it is likely to have stood out to many people.

It’s not known why Alex may have gone missing and officers are investigating several lines of inquiry. He is known to have an interest in classic cars and regularly travels large distances with his hobby.

It is believed the last time Mr Child, of Old Milton Road, New Milton, had contact with family or friends was at 8pm on Saturday when he left his mum’s home in Tuckton Road, Christchurch.
